The EC attempted to collate results from three polling stations Wednesday morning but succeeded in processing only two. Challenges persist with the third polling station’s results.

The process took a dramatic turn when conflicts between political parties and the EC nearly derailed the collation. The issue relied on contradictory assertions concerning the number of polling stations requiring re-collation and the legitimacy of earlier announcements.
New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate Mike Oquaye Jr. expressed complaints to the ongoing collation process, JoyNews reported. Oquaye reported disparities in the number of polling stations remaining to be tabulated before the commotion that delayed the previous procedure.
“In the dying hours of the collation in the constituency, just before the chaos erupted, there were 88 polling stations left to be collated,” the reporter added, quoting Oquaye.

He said the NPP was missing during the collation of 85 of those polling places, which, according to him, rendered the ensuing declaration illegitimate.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) contested this claim, stating just three polling stations were outstanding and that the rest of the results were valid as announced.
Ultimately, the EC halted the declaration, citing unsolved concerns at the Abokobi Women’s Development Centre 2 polling station.
