He emphasized significant measures undertaken during his tenure, focussing on social and infrastructure projects aimed at fostering economic growth and improving access to basic services.

Akufo-Addo identified the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy as his most notable legacy, asserting that it has exerted a “transformative impact on families and communities” across the nation by enhancing access to secondary education and alleviating the financial burden on parents.

In anticipation of the general elections on December 7, Akufo-Addo encouraged voters to endorse Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Akufo-Addo characterised Bawumia as the leader most capable of furthering the NPP’s agenda and sustaining the advancements made during his tenure. “A vote for Bawumia is a vote to preserve our achievements,” Akufo-Addo stated, urging allegiance among NPP followers.

Incomplete projects still promised to the Western Region

About the statue ceremony, Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah stated that the monument represents a token of appreciation for the president’s contributions to the region. Darko Mensah emphasised the significant initiatives that Akufo-Addo’s administration initiated, including the restoration of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, intended to enhance healthcare services for the region’s inhabitants. He also mentioned constructing a three-tier Sinohydro interchange to improve transportation infrastructure and redevelopment of Takoradi Market Circle, which is anticipated to increase local business and drive economic growth.

Notwithstanding these accomplishments, Darko Mensah recognised that the projects are unfinished, emphasizing the necessity for ongoing development to realize Akufo-Addo’s ambition for the region. Local authorities have pledged to ensure the completion of these projects, telling citizens that their advantages will materialize in the forthcoming years.

The tour signifies one of Akufo-Addo’s concluding visits as president and is integral to a larger initiative to consolidate ongoing support for the NPP and its policies.
