The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region is gearing up for the 2024 general elections, with its chairman calling for a vigorous campaign by all members of the party in the region.

Francis Ndede Siah, the Western Region NPP Chairman, made the call during a visit by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the region on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Dr. Bawumia, who was recently elected as the NPP flagbearer, was in the region to express gratitude to party stakeholders for their support.

The Vice President, who was accompanied by former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyapong, and other party officials, met with regional, constituency, and polling station executives in Takoradi.

Unity and Hard Work

According to a report by Daily Graphic, Chairman Ndede said the upcoming battle is winnable if the party comes together at all levels and works very hard. He urged the constituency and polling station executives to take the campaign seriously and remain committed.

“Our flagbearer, the Vice President, is here with us and he has assured us of good things to come,” said Chairman Ndede. “I also want to assure him that if we unite, do what we need to do, and work very hard, we will do very well in this region and win it with a very good margin.”

He said the key to achieving the party’s objective is hard work at the constituency level, and encouraged all the executives to take the campaign seriously.

He also expressed optimism that with Dr. Bawumia leading the party, victory would be secured

Former General Secretary Joins Campaign

The NPP flagbearer was accompanied by former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyapong, who stressed the call for unity and urged the party stakeholders to rally behind Dr. Bawumia.

Mr. Agyapong, a former participant in the NPP Presidential Primaries, said the elections are over and it’s time for all who contested to unite and work hard to ensure victory for Dr. Bawumia in 2024.

“By being here, I represent those of us who contested, and I am confident that we will all come on board as true members of our party, to work hard for Dr. Bawumia and the party to be declared winners next year, in shaa Allah,” said Mr. Agyapong.

He made this call on Thursday, December 7, 2023, when Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited the region to express his gratitude to party stakeholders for choosing him as the NPP flagbearer. He praised Dr. Bawumia for his humility, competence, and vision, and said he is the best choice for Ghana.

The NPP flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia, thanked the party stakeholders for their confidence and support in electing him as the leader of the party.

He said he was humbled by the overwhelming endorsement he received from the delegates and pledged to work with everyone to deliver victory for the party and the nation.

“I am grateful for your trust and your vote. I am not taking it for granted. I am ready to serve you and serve Ghana. Together, we will build on the achievements of President Akufo-Addo and take Ghana to the next level of development,” he said.

He also appealed to the party members to remain loyal, disciplined, and focused, and to avoid any acts that could undermine the party’s chances of winning the elections.

He assured the people of the Western Region of more development projects and opportunities under his administration.

Dr. Bawumia is on a nationwide tour to thank the party delegates and stakeholders for electing him as the NPP flagbearer. He has so far visited the Central, Ashanti, and Western Regions.
