For his local constituency in Ashanti region, Ghana, Ernest Yaw Anim -the MP for Kumawu Constituency- has embarked on an important move to improve education and legislative accountability in his area. The Sekyere Kumau district witnessed a historical moment when an individual inaugurated a new administrative office and made a significant donation of educational resources to local schools on November 24, 2023.
The new administrative office is located at 18 mu Street in Oyoko for the purpose of providing a site of legislative activity and community engagement. The trend by MP Anim denotes an emerging practice of Ghanaian legislators to increase their visibility and interaction with their electors.
The high point of the activity was a gift of over two thousand reading books with school exercise books branded for a total of forty-two basic schools under this district. Furthermore, 150 modern double offices were distributed to 13 schools directly addressing their needs. Such contributions reinforce the MP’s resolve towards enhancing literacy and comfortable learning environments.
Earlier, Mp Anim Has been on the move for developing education in his community. He previously donated 500 study desks, and through his collaboration with the district chief executive, he consistently meets the education needs of the area. This is consistent with the NPP’ commitment for improving quality education in Ghana.
Scholarship Schеmе for Tеrtiary Studеnts
In a further step of helping them out, MP Anim offered Ghc50,000 cash support to 36 tertiary students under his Scholarship Scheme. The move indicates that he feels the need to promote the intellectual interests of young people living in his constituency.
According to Daily Graphic, Anim engages in activities that seek to inspire students to be proactive positive agents of change in their societies. The efforts to initiate the project have been positively received by students, teachers, as well as education officials to show the importance of involvement in the community in education.
