President John Dramani Mahama has declared that his government has fulfilled all promises made for the first 120 days of his administration, emphasizing swift reforms and a renewed commitment to transparency, accountability, and national development.

A lean government, tax reliefs, and job creation take center stage

“We laid out a social contract with you, the people of Ghana, with specific promises for this critical initial period,” Mahama said. “Tonight, I’m pleased to report to you that we have fulfilled these promises.”

Among the highlights:

  • A new code of conduct for officials
  • Elimination of burdensome taxes
  • Inquiries into past government wrongdoings
  • Job creation initiatives
  • Environmental and anti-illegal mining efforts
  • Support for vulnerable populations
  • Accountability in the security sector

“These actions are not just checkboxes,” he added. “They represent a fundamental shift in how government operates—with urgency and purpose.”

A call for collective effort

While expressing pride in the administration’s accomplishments so far, Mahama acknowledged that much work remains.

“Although we’ve built a solid foundation, the journey to realizing the Ghana we all want is far from over,” he said. “This journey demands the collective effort of every Ghanaian.”

He thanked citizens for their continued support and called on individuals across every region, political background, and sector to unite and build a prosperous future together.

“Your trust is our most valued asset,” Mahama said. “We will work tirelessly to earn and deserve it every day.”
