Speaking at this year’s celebration of the Peki Fetu Afahye, the Paramount Chief of Peki, Togbui Takyiwa, showered praises on the NPP for its efforts in the development of the country. Delivering a speech at the event, the chief praised the government for implementing some of the important projects that have benefited different sectors such as infrastructure and social services. His comments are made at a time when the NPP is busy campaigning on the gains it has made in its national programme.
Developmental projects of npp have been commended
Togbui Takyiwa directly referred to the numerous infrastructural projects which have been implemented by the NPP administration; he said that the projects have enhanced the standard of living of the people in the urban and rural areas. He agreed that some of the projects included roads, schools, and health facilities, and others that sought to boost the economy.
Speaking to GhanaWeb, the chief lauded the party for its attempts at dealing with some of the issues of concern to various communities among them the people of the Volta Region where the Peki Traditional Area is situated. He mentioned the government’s agenda of national development and integration which he said has been helpful in the development of the nation.
Call for continued unity and development
In his speech, the Paramount Chief commended the NPP for the good work done and at the same time called for unity and integration and development in the country. He called on the government to continue implementing policies that will foster the participation of all the regions in the implementation of national projects.
Togbui Takyiwa stressed on the need for unity in the country for the purpose of development and appealed to the political heads of the country to come together for the development of the country. They also show how traditional leaders support development and act as voices of their people.
NPP’S current contributions to the nation building
The NPP of which Nana Akufo-Addo is the President has embarked on several mega projects in Ghana; one of such project is the one district, one factory project formulated with the intention of enhancing industrialization of Ghana with the view of generating employment opportunities for qualified citizens. Some other accomplishments include; in the social sectors, health, education and physical infrastructure, which have enhanced the economic growth of the country.
While the government remains busy, Togbui Takyiwa’s appreciation shows how these processes are benefiting local people. His appeal for more development and togetherness is music to the ears of many Ghanaians who yearn for equitable growth of every part of the country.
