Following two significant events—a parliamentary apology for a security raid at his residence and the OSP’s decision to revoke the wanted notice that had previously been issued against him—Ofori-Atta acknowledged progress in the case in an open letter dated February 6. In order to address the accusations and guarantee due process, he characterized these developments as important milestones.

OSP schedules June meeting to address misconduct allegations

According to Joynews, Ofori-Atta revealed that the OSP has suggested a June meeting to discuss the accusations made against him. Due to allegations of financial impropriety involving many government contracts and financial activities, the former minister is currently being investigated. These include his participation in the Strategic Mobilization-GRA contract, the ECG-BXC contract termination, the National Cathedral project payments, the ambulance purchase, and the use of Tax Refund Account monies.

In the course of its ongoing investigation into these issues, the OSP had already issued a wanted notice for Ofori-Atta. The OSP did, however, confirm in a recent statement that Ofori-Atta had informed the authorities of his planned return date. His name was taken off the wanted list as a result of this development, indicating a move in the direction of positive interaction.

Ofori-Atta stressed in his letter the significance of careful planning and communication with his legal counsel prior to the planned June meeting. These conversations, he said, would be essential to guaranteeing that everything is handled openly and quickly.

Ofori-Atta said he hoped the court system would be impartial and effective, providing clarification and resolution to the accusations made against him. He reaffirmed that he will continue to exercise his right to due process while working with the OSP.

The former minister’s strategy shows that he wants to settle the issue amicably while preserving his reputation and legal rights.
