Labianca Company Limited has announced the passing of its Chief Executive Officer, Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh. She passed away on Tuesday at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema following a brief illness. Her leadership and vision were integral to the company’s success, and her death marks a significant loss not only to her company but to the business community at large.

Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh was more than just a CEO; she was a prominent figure in Ghana’s business sector. Until her untimely demise, she served as the Western Region’s representative on the Council of State. Her commitment to governance and development was evident through her various roles over the years, including her tenure on the Board of Directors of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority from 2017 to 2021.

However, her career was not without controversy. In August 2022, the Office of the Special Prosecutor highlighted her name in a report on investigations into alleged corruption. This report implicated officials from both Labianca and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority. They were accused of manipulating tax liabilities to benefit Labianca, a company specializing in the importation of frozen foods.

Despite these challenges, Asomah-Hinneh was a respected leader who navigated her company through complex industry waters. Her efforts to expand and innovate within the frozen food import sector have been widely acknowledged. Under her leadership, Labianca not only prospered but also contributed significantly to local and national economies.

Eunice leaves behind a legacy of resilience and leadership. She is survived by her husband, former Tema Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nana Asomah-Hinneh (RTD). The couple was well-known in their community, both for their professional achievements and their philanthropic efforts.

As the business community and her family mourn the loss of a remarkable leader, tributes from colleagues, friends, and associates continue to pour in. They remember her as a visionary who was deeply committed to her work and to making a positive impact in her community.
