Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the King of the Ga State, has recently launched a significant educational initiative, unveiling a GHS100,000 scholarship program for the Ga community. This program, covering tuition and stationery expenses, benefits a hundred schoolchildren and marks a major step in the King’s commitment to promoting education.

Addressing a large crowd during the “Kinka Blonya” celebration at Bukom Park in Jamestown, Accra, the Ga Mantse emphasized the crucial role of sub-chiefs and clan heads in enhancing educational standards. He identified them as primary contacts for addressing educational challenges in the Ga State.

According to a report by Graphic Online, the scholarship program, focused on assisting needy but brilliant students, is a key part of the King’s strategy to nurture an educated community. This initiative is poised to significantly boost the educational opportunities of the recipients.

Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II also encouraged students to focus on their education, envisioning them as future beacons of excellence for the Ga State. He called upon parents to support and guide their children in their academic endeavors.

Beyond the scholarships, the New Year’s Day event featured various activities. The celebration, attended by hundreds of community members, included gift-sharing sessions, games, musical chess, bouncy castles, and trampolines, adding to the festivity of the occasion.

This day marked the beginning of a hopeful new year for the Ga community, with education at the forefront, thanks to the King’s generous initiative.
