Witnesses reported that when the car approached the top of the hill, just before the intersection, the driver found it difficult to maintain control.
The truck swerved out of its lane and into the line of oncoming traffic as it started to lose control. It crashed into many automobiles and caused extensive damage as it sped downhill. The crash caused several cars to be mangled and forced off the road.
Eventually, the large trunk of the truck flipped over, causing bags of cargo to stream across the roadway and obstructing traffic in both directions. Drivers and pedestrians attempting to negotiate the chaotic scenario faced additional risks as a result of the spilled cargo.
