Dispute escalates to violence
According to the Twifo Praso District Police Command, the argument started when Opare discovered that his father had lent his wooden sticks—originally placed on a cocoa drying stand—to the local Pentecost Church.
The sticks had been used to support cement bags to prevent them from hardening. Enraged by the use of the sticks, Opare confronted his father. During the argument, he attacked him with a cutlass, inflicting serious wounds.
As the confrontation escalated, an elderly woman, Akua Fatima, intervened. Opare allegedly turned on her, fatally injuring her with the same weapon.
