Beginning on October 22, Ghanaians wishing to apply for visas to the UK will have to utilise a new Visa Application Centre (VAC). To improve the entire Ghanaian visa application process, VFS Global will take the position of TLScontact, the former third-party service provider.
Visa applications for the UK in Ghana transition to VFS Global
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has officially announced that all applicants who have already begun their visa applications using TLScontact will need to finish the process with VFS Global.
Authorities stated that anybody impacted by the change would receive an email notification in a statement that was placed on the UK government’s website. The communiqué said, “If this change affects you, you will be contacted by email.”
The change in service providers won’t have an impact on visa decisions, processing timelines, or the costs applicants must pay, UKVI stressed. “There is no need for concern, as this will not impact the overall outcome of your visa application,” said the statement. It added that the main goal of the modification was to increase the effectiveness of the visa application procedure, namely concerning the collecting and submission timeframes of biometric data.
On behalf of UK Visas and Immigration, VFS Global is now in charge of overseeing the country’s extensive global network of Visa Application Centres, according to MyJoyOnline. The UK hopes to improve the experience for applicants by integrating contemporary technologies and streamlining visa procedures by contracting out these services to outside suppliers.
New center promises faster submission and improved service
The UKVI Director for Visa, Status, and Information Services, Marc Owen, was upbeat about Ghana’s move to VFS Global. “The opening of our new Visa Application Centre in Ghana marks an exciting milestone in providing a world-class UK visa operation, one that introduces key digital innovations and added convenience for our customers worldwide,” Owen stated.
The Grand Oyeeman Building’s mezzanine level, South Liberation Link, in Accra, is home to Ghana’s new Visa Application Centre.
