  • The driver returned the money and even helped complete the transfer.
  • Bolt and strangers rewarded the driver for his integrity.

Bolt driver in Ghana Albert Quansah is getting a lot of attention for recovering GHS 38,600 that a customer unintentionally put to his mobile money account.

How the accidental transfer happened

The error occurred during a ride when a customer repeatedly sent money to Quansah’s account while trying to pay it to a business associate. After realising his mistake, the traveller got in touch with Quansah, who had been attempting to get in touch with him.

Quansah stated, “I tried to call the passenger as soon as I saw the large amount, but his number was busy.” In hopes that he was still there, I drove back to the location where I had dropped him off.

The traveller conveyed his appreciation. “He continued soothing me and remaining cool. It was astounding to me that he drove back just to ensure to gave the money back. His candour helped me to believe in people again.

According to a report by MyJoyOnline, after exceeding his transfer limit, Quansah even used the passenger’s phone to send GHS 15,000 to the designated receiver. He promised to come back the following day to finish the transfer and left his phone and password with the passenger.

Quansah’s financial struggles as a plumber led him to pursue a career in driving. For ten years, he lived with a buddy who gave him a car and assisted him in enrolling in driving school.

Quansah added, “I finished high school, but it was difficult supporting my younger siblings.” “I can now start driving and take care of my family because of my friend.”

Honesty that inspired many

Strangers moved by Quansah’s integrity have given him presents and financial support ever since the occurrence.

“People have been sending me presents, messages, and even cash. It’s encouraging to see honesty valued,” he remarked.

Quansah had previously brought back forgotten goods from travellers. Anything that is left in my car is always returned. “That’s the correct thing to do,” he declared.

Quansah exhorted other motorists to behave honourably. “Be virtuous and honest in your line of work. Develop a rapport with travellers and view obstacles as teaching opportunities, he advised. Additionally, he commended Bolt for helping drivers.

Later, as a thank you, the passenger offered to pay GHS 700 to cover Quansah’s day sales.
